Ewers, John C.
John C. Ewers was born in Cleveland, Ohio and was educated at Dartmouth College later pursuing painting and drawing until attending Yale University for post-graduate studies of the American Plains Indian. He served the National Park Service and developed the Indian Room at Yellowstone National Park and later established the Museum of the Plains Indian in Montana at the request of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. After a stint in the military he worked with the Smithsonian Institution.
